Happy New Year

Wishing all of my friends on Docrafts a very healthy, happy new year filled with fun, laughter and STASH!!!
I intend to be nicer to me throughout the coming year, spend more time doing things I'd like to do and generally having fun.
I'm waiting patiently for my sizzix order to arrive, hopefully it'll be here before I have to go back to work on Monday.

George's Christmas Trifle!!!!

Here is a lovely picture of the trifle George made for dessert tonight.
He had a little help from grandad to put the creamy topping on then decorated it all himself.

Sunday 27th December 2009

Well Christmas has been and gone and the house is a mess. Tomorrow I'm thinking of taking the tree down as it takes up too much space and with all the new toys there's not a lot of room to move.

I've tried all day to spend loads of cash in the sizzix sale but can't seem to get past the first page! For some reason my husband seems pretty pleased about it, I can't for the life of me understand why.
I've spent over an hour making this look a bit more normal, I've taken off the Christmas countdown, changed my visitor counter and my clock but I'm still not too happy with it.
I've visited about 10 different sites for backgrounds and can't find any I like :(

Friday 18th December 2009

Finally the holidays are here, it has been a very tough 3 days!
I still have loads to do to get organised, like trying on the dress I bought tonight for OH's Christmas 'do' tomorrow night - it clashes with Strictly and I'm not pleased.
Still, a few days to chill or if the football is still on on Sunday to FREEZE and I'll be sorted.

Wednesday 16th December 2009

Only 2 more days at work then I'm off until the 4th January :)
It was a little bit hectic today as we're trying to make winter wonderland gardens all 22 children at once and just me!
Tomorrow we have the final run through for our candlelit carol service on Friday and I'm still trying to put the programme together for it.

YIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
The boys' accounts are sorted. Mind you it took over an hour for them to do all of the paperwork.
We just had to pop into 'Greggs' for a sausage roll afterwards :)
The boys are having a nap  and then it'll be time to tackle the tree.
I looked everywhere for a new star to go on the top but I can't find one anywhere - ah well the old one will just have to be tied on again this year and hope it'll last another Christmas.
Time for a quick snuggle under the fleece until the boys wake up

Tuesday 8th December 2009

Another mad day at work, the children are really excited already, we've had Christmas Lunch this week spread over 2 days to make it a little easier on the catering staff.
Tomorrow we're supposed to be finishing our boxes for our sweet that we have designed in PPA time oh and making the sweets too!!!
Not sure it's a good idea, 25 children and a large bowl of melted chocolate - but I'm sure they'll love making a mess although I'm not sure if the cleaners will be too pleased.

Sunday 6th December 2009

Hi again, blimey 2 posts in one day. That has to be a record I think.

I've managed to craft a little and to prepare loads of stuff for work today, all in all a good day.
Thanks for stopping by xx

Sunday 6th December 2009

Oh My!  Look at me posting 2 days in a row!
Today is football day and as usual H's team were fab.
Another match and another win, we stood in the pouring rain and freezing cold to watch them win 10-0.
I've never seen H playing in attack as he's usually either in defence on in goal but today he was all over the pitch.
His tackles were spot on and he almost scored his first goal!
If you'd like to look at their season so far please feel free to click on this link to the team website http://www.oldtownunited.co.uk/ You will need to click on the mini soccer link and then on the unders 8's link.
Hopefully when I've finished preparing memory card activities for work I'll be able to get a little crafting done today.
Thanks for stopping by xxx

Saturday 5th December 2009

OMG! how difficult can it be to open 3 savings accounts?
Well I'll tell you it is almost impossible, we took the 3 boys into town do this as it is part of their Chrimbo pressie and they're excited at saving up for their own cars (a way to go yet I know) but we thought we'd give it a go.
Abbey - sorry no appointments today, you can wait for half an hour and see. To which we replied can we book a slot and come back in half an hour?
No, we can photo copy the paperwork and you can come back another day....

Halifax - we have no-one to serve today but you can ring and begin the process and we can finish off after the account is open, ok we'll give it a go we said.
25 minutes later and we were getting nowhere fast. Knew it would be a disaster when the blokey on the end of the phone said "Where is the person registered for voting?" We explained yet again that H is only 7.
We gave up after another 15 minutes and went across the road.
The Brittania had a lovely lady who said I can photocopy the birth certificates and begin the process now and if you take the forms home and complete them and bring them back in the week we'll finish the paperwork and give you the pass books there and then.
So we had 3 forms ready to fill in and 6 very exhausted and annoyed people who came home and crashed until 4:30 pm.

Oh the joys of getting ready for Christmas - the boys wanted to put the tree up today that'll have to wait until Wednesday evening now.

Thanks for stopping by have a lovely day xx

Sunday 29th November 2009

Well I haven't done a very good job of working on this blog have I?
There are never enough hours in the day to do what I want to or need to just lately, next weekend my grandsons will be decorating the tree. We're going to spend this afternoon making some new decorations for them to put on it.
All I've managed to do today is wash some bedding and put the meat on to cook..... ah well there's always tomorrow.
I think that'll be my new motto for next year.
Thank you for stopping by and have a lovely day xx

Sunday 11th October 2009

Where has the time gone? I don't feel as though my feet have touched the ground recently.
Work is very busy and I'm so tired all the time. I have had some blood tests done to see if there is a medical cause or if it's just because I'm old and cranky!!!
We went to watch H play football today and they won 6-3 a much better result than last week when they got beat.
It's lovely and bright outside but I just have no energy today to go and do anything.
I might try to craft in a while if I can stay awake.

Oh and Susie I haven't forgotten to send a prize for my quiz I've just not had time to get organised......SORRY xxx

Sunday 27th September 2009

Another win at football for my big grandson's team, today was a  hard fought match but the boys played well together.
My darling was defense for 1st half and in goal for the 2nd. He let in a penalty but almost saved it, he had his hand on the ball but it just rolled over the top of the other hand bless him.
The middle one starts football training next weekend in the under 6's - he's such a tiny scrap but really fast on his feet. His first whole week of school has knocked him out poor mite.
Meanwhile the littly has had 2 days in Nursery and goes back for 2 more this week before starting all morning every day the week after, he's grumpy cos he can't go in sooner.
No crafting for me again, too busy trying to save mod roc masks that the children in my enrichment afternoon have been trying to make. Oh and making named leaves for the reading tree.

Thursday 24th September 2009

Well another week is almost over!
Since I've last had time to blog we've had Hubby's, Daughter's and middle Grandson's birthdays. We went to Legoland to celebrate them and I got a very wet bottom!
I've had a bout of vertigo, I really hate the spinning rooms but it has almost gone again thankfully.
Work is really busy and by the time I get home, get sorted and relaxed I'm too tired to craft :( Still it's not that long until my next crafting leave :)

Sunday, 13 September 2009

Sunday 13th September 2009

Today was my eldest grandson's first match of the season.
And what a match it was, they won 11 - 0.
Last year started well for them but they all got hit by the flu bug one after the other, and they only had enough players to just make a team each week.
The poor little lambs lost so many games and got so disheartened it was heartbreaking to watch them each week, but then they won a game and it was fantastic to see their spirits rise.
Today they charged onto the field and owned it for the whole game. My Harry was in defence for the 1st half and in goal for the 2nd - not that he had much to do!
The goalie on the other team did a great job though, as the boys were all over him, he barely had time to get back to his feet before they were at the goalmouth again.
Hopefully they'll win loads of games again this season, and on the thought my middle grandson Reece wants to join the under 6's he's such a tiny scrap but so fast on his feet.
That just leaves George and we'll need something for him to do, he's only 3 and thinks he can do everything the other 2 do.

Friday 11th September 2009

Another week has just whizzed by and not a sniff of crafting has happened here.
I'm so tired at the end of each day, all I can manage to do is snooze all evening.
I suppose it'll be ok in a few weeks when I get used to all the new things but before we know it Christmas will have been and gone and we'll all be trying to lose weight for the summer holidays!

Have a lovely weekend whatever you are doing xxxx

Friday, 4 September 2009

Friday 4th September 2009

Oh my what a week!
I feel as though it's half way through the term already and the children have only been back for 2 days!
The first 2 days were spent putting furniture back into newly painted rooms, then we sorted out the other classrooms and made displays.
For the past 2 days I've been trying to do assessments on children ready to start their individual interventions - I need to organise my resources (another job to tackle this weekend)
I really don't know where the time has gone this week. Still my OH, DS and 2 GS's have gone camping for their final road trip of the year, it'll soon be too cold to go again.
I'm going to be sorting out my work over the weenend and hopefully getting some crafting done too.
Have a lovely weekend and Happy Crafting xxx

Tuesday 1st September 2009

Firstly I'd like to apologise to Maria for confusing her with the date of yesterday's posting, I have amended it now Maria xxx

Well today was just so exciting, we went back to work and updated the aims, values etc of the school as we are required to do annually.
Then it was time to sort out the classrooms, finish (or in my case start displays) and stick on book labels etc.
I really could do with a few more days holiday as I  don't feel that I've managed to do everything that I wanted to.
Still there's only 5 weeks and we'll have a week off :) I can craft all day every day again.
I spent most of yesterday either napping or making birthday cards for family birthday's this month.
Back to work means early night so I'd better get on and finish the work I've brought home, I need it to finish the displays tomorrow.

Happy crafting xxxx

Monday 31st August 2009

Where has the year gone?
It won't be long until Christmas, this year has just flown by especially this past weekend.
On Friday the boys arrived for the weekend, we went to the dog racing at the local stadium, all 3 boys love to go and George the youngest is so funny as he cheers them on.
On Saturday we went to KidsAbout - one of those indoor play parks, the drinks bill for 2 coffees, 1 jug of juice, 3 mini packs of biscuits and 2 slices of shortbread was more than the entry fee. You have to pay, they don't allow you to take in your own food!
After that we went to the outlet village where they had an F1 simulator with a time set by Jenson Button for people to compete against. They also had the 2008 Ferrari that Raikkonen drove. I have 3 lovely pictures of my little men all taken sat inside of the car.
Yesterday we braved the weather and went to the beach at Weston-Super-Mud, they had sand sculptures there and a Burger King made of sand which was selling ice-cream so we all had one. There was also a 'car meet' which the boys - big and small found really interesting, I was just a tad bored, ok I was really bored!
I'm just about to look for inspiration to make birthday cards for my OH, DD and middle GS.
Have a lovely day and Happy Crafting everyone xxxx

Friday 28th August 2009

My new desk is in place, piled high at the moment with craft stuff and things that I need to find a new home for!
When it's clear I'll take some pictures and try to put them on here.
To make room for the desk I've had to dismantle the 3 drawer unit that held my important paperwork and the boys' books, so it's off to buy some underbed storage drawers to put the books etc in soon - OH will be so pleased!
It's fairly overcast and cool here today which means I can shift the furniture around without getting all hot and bothered.

Have a lovely day everyone xxx

Thursday 27th August 2009

Today, after finishing the dreaded housework I am going to measure up the space for my craft desk.
My husband and son came up with the idea of putting a large desk next to my computer area so that I can set up a craft area where I can leave things out to dry or to continue working on them at a later date/time.
Currently I use my dining table but when we all want to sit down together for a family meal it means I have to move all of my craft things.
My little grandsons have gone home today but they are back tomorrow evening for a long weekend, hopefully if the weather stays dry we'll be able to go to the beach one day. They had such a lovely time on holiday and George keeps asking when we can go back again bless him.
Have a good day everyone xxxx

What have I done today?
Well I went into school for a few hours to help a teacher friend sort out her classroom, I didn't get as much done in that time as I had hoped to.
I came home, had lunch and then went to buy some more paper to re-do 2 pages in my son's scrapbook - the red is almost the same and by the time all the pics etc are on there it shouldn't notice.
It's very wet, chilly and grey here today but at least it is cooler.

I'm glad to see my list of 100 thing to do is popular I think I'll find another list for us :)

Tuesday 25thAugust 2009

I can't believe it, my summer holiday is almost over!
I still haven't done everything I want to do, although, today I have tackled the pig-pen and the pig-sty otherwise known as the bathroom and my bedroom.
The only trouble with long holidays is that I get so into my crafting the dreaded housework gets done as and when it needs it, and "what's wrong with that?" I hear my Docraft buddies say.
It's just that I look at the rooms and think that I really ought to clear up and then another crafty idea pops into my head and I just have to start on that, personally I blame the following people for my lack of housework.
They are:
Gina - she makes us do lots of crafting and very little else!
Sue-Bubbles - she makes us spend our last penny on goodies we simply MUST have.
Maria - she encourages Gina.
Valerie - who makes such fabulous things we just HAVE to keep crafting to try to keep up with her.

Monday 24th August 2009

Well I finally have a blog of sorts, I've asked my daughter for help adding a few things.

My intentions on this blog are to update it regularly, whether anyone reads it or not.
Who knows maybe I'll find out that I really can get to grips with technology!

Today has been fairly busy, 2 of my 3 adorable grandsons (Harry and George) stayed overnight, the other one Reece had to visit the dentist today.
He has a special treat lined up for later, his favourite meal and a treat for being brave.
